Processing Cost
Full service is available to members of the community who raise their own backyard birds for meat and bring them to me at the desired age for processing. Price is per bird up to 10lbs of UNFINISHED/LIVE weight. For booking this service, minimum requirement and prices are as follows:
Whole chicken $10 per bird (minimum of 5 birds)
Duck $15 per bird (minimum of two ducks)
Guinea $12 per bird (minimum of two birds)
Quail $5 (minimum of 5 birds)
Turkey $25 (under 16 pounds; add $5 per additional pound) ; minimum of 3 turkeys
Any bird over 6 months of age: $5 extra
Any processing order that does not meet the minimum requirement of birds to process will accrue an extra charge of $10 per bird in addition to the booking fee and other applicable charges; Ex: a bird that is older than 6 months. Birds older than 6 months have a tougher skin and takes longer to clean.
We do not offer special cuts. Birds will be packaged in BPA free USDA approved shrink wrap bags, labeled with date of harvest and finished weight, and with giblets inside, ready for your freezer.

What does the cost cover?
Processing rates cover all aspects of bird processing: ice, electricity, equipment usage, shrink wrap bags, labels, and my time and labor before and during the job; post harvest clean up and disposal.

How to book this service?
A non-refundable booking fee of $20 is required for booking this service. The booking fee is subtracted from the total cost. However, cancellations and/or no shows forfeit the deposit.
Birds are dropped off with appointment on Fridays, after 5 pm. They will be safely kept in one of our quarantine coops with fresh water . They will be processed on Saturday morning. We will send you a text message once your birds are packaged and ready to go.
