Self-Blue Ameraucana chicks

Local pick up only. We do not ship birds! All orders of chicks and hatching eggs are pre-orders! Chicks are sold unsexed. When you place your order we will contact to you let you know when we are setting the eggs for your chicks and give you an anticipated hatch date. When your chicks hatch, we vaccinate them, unless requested otherwise, and reach out to you to schedule your appointment for pick up.

We update inventory weekly. Once you are notified that your birds are ready for check out, it is up to you to have their coop ready and make arrangements to pick them up by the deadline agreed upon. Should life happens and you are not able to take care of the birds you pre-ordered, we will give you credit for the amount paid up-to-date for a future purchase. Please understand we are not able to refund any orders/pre-orders. The only time, a refund applies is when we are not able to deliver the product (Ex. theft, fertility issues, hatch rate issue, fire, flock demise, bird illness, death of breeder, etc). There is a $5 fee for each bird, each day that is here past the deadline. No exceptions.

Unless requested otherwise by the buyer of a prepaid order, chicks are vaccinated against Mareks’ disease and sold unsexed Minimum purchase is required as follows:

1-3 weeks: 5 chicks

4-6 weeks: 3 chicks

A fee of $20 is added to any order that does not meet the minimum purchase requirement. This fee will be collected during pickup. Orders are filled by the order in which payment is received. Please allow up to 48 hours to hear back from us, especially if you are ordering on a Friday night or over the weekend. Appointments are scheduled for Saturdays most of the year. If you are ordering on a Saturday and expecting to pick up on the same day, please note available slots fill up quickly during the week, so sometimes, we are fully booked on Saturdays. Please wait to hear back from us before heading to our farm. We will contact you within 48 hours to schedule your pick up or anticipated pick up date, depending on the birds’ age group you purchased.

On the day of your appointment, please bring a suitable carrier for the safe transport of your pullets of the age of 6 weeks.

Feeding: We feed Non-GMO Nature’s Best Organic starter grower (this is a non-medicated feed). We provide fresh water daily with a tbs of apple cider vinegar (Brags raw and unfiltered, “with the mother”)

§  8 teaspoons granulated sugar

§  ½ teaspoon sea salt

§  ½ teaspoon baking soda

§  1 gallon of water

 We make no guarantee that the vaccinations will protect your poultry 100% from getting the disease, but it is a good preventative step. Marek's vaccine is an injection and will not be noticeable on the chicks.

Our Flock of Lavander Ameraucanas

The Ameraucana chicken breed originates from Chile blue egg layers called Aracuanas. Ameraucanas were bred to retain the blue egg gene while eliminating the lethal alleles common to their parent breed.

The Ameraucana breed was admitted in the APA Standards of Perfection (SOP) in 1984. The last color variety to be admitted in the APA was the Lavender, also known as Self-Blue.

We sourced our BBS from top US breeders who are committed to breeding to APA SOP. We have joined the Ameraucana Breeders Club and are committed to preserving and retaining the wonderful features of this amazing, unique breed.

BBS stands for blue, black, splash. These are the colors you can hatch from our eggs.

Per our experience, Ameraucanas are calm, docile, super hardy, and friendly birds. They make excellent pets with benefits. Both male and female are active, inquisitive, and friendly. They bare confinement well but are excellent foragers if given the opportunity. The hens can go broody, but otherwise, are great layers on light blue eggs. Their egg laying season can be long. They are usually the last ones to quit laying in late November and the first ones to start back up in January. Of course, there may be environmental factors that could affect this. Their pea comb makes them the ideal bird to raise in cold weather regions, but I personally find that they do well over hot summer days in Florida. They are one of my favorite breeds of all time.

Breed Varieties

We own three flocks of Ameraucanas. We raise BBS (Blue, black, and splash colors), Lavenders, and Wheatens. They are real Ameraucanas and are not to be confused with Easter Eggers, which is not a recognized breed.
